With over 30 years of experience in scientific research, policy and education. His previous research focused on marine biogeochemistry, microbiology and algal biofuel production. After getting his start as an extraction chemist in the cannabis industry, Jay went on to become the director of a prominent cannabis testing lab in Washington. This background in academia, private industry and policy, combined with his experience leading lab groups and longtime interest in science ethics allow Jay to direct the lab with a focus on both scientific integrity and innovation. Jay’s leadership approach is grounded in his experience performing basic and applied research, and informed by his understanding of the scientific role in shaping policy.
With over 15 years of experience in laboratories as a microbiologist, chemist and quality manager. She started in the food production industry testing freeze dried foods for microbiological contaminants and quickly realized the skills were directly transferable to low moisture hemp and cannabis. After co-founding her first laboratory in 2015, Lindsay was the backbone of the business and became an expert in LC/MS/MS, HPLC, GC, PCR, ELISA and workflow efficiency. Through her own research, Lindsay developed state-specific accredited methods that have stood the test of time. She takes great pride in maintaining the instruments and developing methods herself. As an ISO certified internal auditor, she has a keen eye for keeping up on regulations and making sure the lab’s performance is in full compliance. Her experience adapting available instrumentation to the needs of emerging markets makes her uniquely qualified in her work.
